Robyn Passmore Church Secretary
Rev. David Elmore
Pastor

David Elmore was born on August 19, 1968 in Houma, Louisiana. He was the oldest of 3 children born to David and Emily Elmore. David attended elementary school at Saint Matthew’s Episcopal School and graduated from Vandebilt Catholic High School. After high school, David went to Texas A&M University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation from Texas A&M, David worked as a Water Resources Planner and Engineer for various consulting engineering firms and eventually for the New Orleans District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  After 14 years working as a Civil Engineer, David finally pursued the call to Ordained Ministry in the United Methodist Church. He left New Orleans weeks before Hurricane Katrina struck to attend Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, Missouri. It was here that he met his wife, Julie.  The two of them welcomed their first child, Oliver, on December 4, 2013. As a student, he also pastored a two-point charge in Pleasanton and Prescott, Kansas starting in August 2005. Upon graduation, he and Julie accepted an appointment to the Alaska United Methodist Conference in July 2008, where he they went to serve Community United Methodist Church in Nome as Co-Pastors. He was ordained an Elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference of the United Methodist Church in June 2012. As co-pastor of Community United Methodist Church, David endeavored to lead the church in ministering the love of God to the hurting people of Nome, Alaska. From March of 2011 until being appointed to Concord UMC in July 2013, David served as Executive Director of the Nome Community Center, a National Mission Institution of the United Methodist Church affiliated with United Methodist Women, Inc. (formerly Women’s Division). In the spirit of its Mission to “enhance the quality of life of the people of the Bering Straits Region,” Nome Community Center, Inc. (NCC) provides a wide range of programs, services, and activities for the youth of Nome and their parents, putting major emphasis upon prevention and early intervention.  Response Magazine's interview with Pastor David can be seen here

David's vision for Concord UMC is build on the many strengths that are already apparent in the current congregation, and develop a stronger sense of community within the congregation.  This community will be an intergenerational community supporting one another in life and ministry and will become a mission base for reaching out in God's love to the community around them.

Robyn's interests include: scrapbooking, crocheting, working in the yard, and is also a huge NASCAR fan (go Matt Kennseth - I had to throw that in there)! The family has 4 pigeons, 4 dogs, 1 rabbit and two cats, Midnight and Twilight. Robyn loves her job as a secretary and janitor at the church, enjoys interacting with everyone in the church and puts her children at the top of the list (after God of course).
